ARTIST PROFILE | ANDREW YOUNG

Posted on October 6, 2011 by Oak and Oar

This past weekend I was catching up with one of my favourite Canadian based art blogs, Booooooom, and came across the work of Vancouver artist, Andrew Young. Young is currently studying illustration and graphic design at Capilano University in Vancouver. Young’s work appears to be a mix of sporadic abstraction and hyper-realism accomplished through mixed media figurative painting. Whether or not my observations are correct what I do know is it has been garnering a lot of attention. Unfortunately his latest exhibition in Vancouver closed on Sunday but we will definitley post some info on some of his up coming shows here in Canada. You can see more of Young’s here.
